Mercy killing

A friend sent this to me and I think that it is worth sharing:

We were talking about life and death.

I said to her, "Don't let me live like a vegetable, completely dependent upon a machine, getting fed from a bottle. If I ever come to that state, switch off all those machines and remove the bottle..."

She got up, switched off the TV and the computer and took away my beer bottle....

Visits and travels

Last few weeks were hectic and wonderful. First Nidhu dada and Shobha Bhabhi came from India for a few days. They were accompanied by a colleague Raghavan and his wife, Kalpana. We went to Pisa, Florence, Venice apart from a visit to Bologna. Here are a few pictures from that visit:

Then, it was time for our own trip to Greece. I had been fascinated by Greek culture, especially the way it has influenced so much of modern thinking so when we were discussing how to celebrate 25 years of marriage, we thought it would be good place to visit. It was a short trip and we visited only Athens and Mykonos, but it was wonderful, as you can see from these pictures:
