I agree that in some ways Indian ide...Thanks Meera. I agree that in some ways Indian ideas about same sex families and "alternate families" may not be easily acceptable. However, in its own way, Indian society is much more open. We are used to uncle ji and aunty jis living with, friends in close relationship living together - it only means that you have phrase it differently and it is acceptable. I mean what is a family after all? A places or point where relationships anchor. So what is the hassle if it is not your usual father / mother stuff. My daughter and I watch a TV serial called "Modern Family" which is quite nice. However it requires a very opene minded society to accept all of this.
