I think talking of death does it to most of us, I mean make us ramble! :)Sunil Deepakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05781674474022699458noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8346538939409399890.post-7358593561653483542011-11-18T14:32:55.531+01:002011-11-18T14:32:55.531+01:00I've often read that people are afraid of deat...I've often read that people are afraid of death because nobody seems to know what lies beyond the grave. What's the nature of the vacuum? Is it a blackhole of nothingness? But for me, these questions are too esoteric, too vaunted. My sadness at death would probably be - have i done enough to be remembered fondly when i'm no more? Just rambling :)drift woodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01347336756998447009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8346538939409399890.post-77668565993437275002011-08-02T09:57:12.391+02:002011-08-02T09:57:12.391+02:00This is a very reflective post as I can see. Like you say the Egyptians were very much into their death the moment their life started taking off! I dont like to think about death but as you say , when we get older we start thinking about it more often. I see my father read obituary columns with a lot more interest these days. My late MIL had even decided the saree that she wanted her body to be covered in once she died. But of course nobody paid any attention to once she was dead and her mortal remains were finally wrapped in a saree that some one else chose from her collection. Somewhere cemeteries in western cultures are beautiful places unlike our smashan ghats and the "impurity" that is supposed to surround it!!! GREAT PICTURES! I hope there was a Gregorian chant playing in the background when you took those pics :-)Meera Sundararajanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15584671517551652378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8346538939409399890.post-88848135853569009162011-07-28T20:03:19.923+02:002011-07-28T20:03:19.923+02:00Very touchy subject this...I never could bring mys...Very touchy subject this...I never could bring myself to think about death. At nights when i lie staring at the darkness, i despise death. May be i could embrace the idea of death later on, in my 50s, definitely not now!
